A Glimmer of Hope for Juniper

All through the summer, I was kind of waiting for Juniper to close to move on from that deal. I kind of held out hope that the back-up offer for the house would fall through and the seller would come back to my original offer. So I was causually looking for houses waiting for the Juniper deal to run it's course for closure.

About 2 months out, I noticed that the house still had not closed. Since the back-up offer came right after my deal fell apart, I knew what date the seller had in the my contract and now it had been 2 weeks since that closing date, but still not closed. From past experience, I knew that house closing can literally fall apart a day before closing so maybe something was wrong with the seller acquiring a mortgage or some issue with the inspection.

To do a little private investigation, I had a family member call the seller's agent to inquire about the house since it was still listed on the MLS. The family member acted like a stranger interested in the house and asked what the status was. The person at the office said that the house should have closed 2 weeks ago and there appeared to be a problem with the inspection.

Hmm, maybe there's a chance the deal will fall through and I can have a 2nd chance on the house...
