Almost hung a door

I had some family down this weekend so I didn’t get too involved in home repairs. Also, this is the last weekend before my cottage rentals started so I ended up doing some final outside preparation on the place. I went to a garden center and picked up some plants for the outside. I also got a new flower box which we coated with some pine tar to match the rest of the flower boxes.

For the interior work I did a final coat of Waterlox on the built-in doors and attempted to hang them. For some reason the hinges were not lining up as expected so I was unable to get the door hung. I need to regroup and figure out why things are off about an 1/8th of an inch with the hinge placement.

The reminder of the work was on the bedroom with continuing to strip the old paint from the walls and doors. I’m still not done removing the last of the pink latex paint on the wall, but it’s almost there.

Maybe now 85% done?

I did a CitriStrip treatment on the closet door to try and remove some of the spots that were too tricky with the SpeedHeater. Most of this came off OK, but I’ll need another pass to get the remaining bits off.
